BEING A WRITER

In talking with my husband the other day, I said that I often wonder if some of my editing clients actually read books from the genre they hope to publish in. Too often, it seems these writers haven't.
So my question to you, prospective published author is: What books are you currently reading? Are they in your genre? How often do you finish a novel? Once a day? Once a week or more? Only once a month, or less?
The truth is, one way to become a great writer is to read great writers. There are some excellent websites that have suggestions on what's good to read lately. I like Good Reads, and Amazon, but I'm sure there are others.
My advice--when you aren't writing: READ!
